PREMIMA’s Capacity building approach focuses on understanding the obstacles that inhibit people, governments, small scale-miners from realizing their development goals while enhancing the abilities that l allow them to achieve measurable and sustainable results in mining.

PREMIMA defines capacity building as a long-term continual process of development that involves all stakeholders; including African governments, local authorities, non-governmental organizations, professionals, community members, academics and more.

Capacity-building for the small scale-miners requires the development of conditions that allow them to build and enhance knowledge and skills. It also calls for the establishment of conditions that will allow them to engage in the “process of learning and adapting to change”, PREMIMA is committed to empower and develop the technical capacity of small scales-miners namely on Environment; Community Care; Safety and Health; Security; Governance; Transparency.
